Correct selection of pothole patching materials and proper repair application can greatly increase the longevity of pothole repairs.
Step 1: Clean any loose material or debris in and around the area that will be repaired.
Step 2: About two inches of the asphalt patch will be poured directly into the hole.
Step 3: Using a tamping tool, the asphalt patch will be tightly compacted into the hole to ensure for the best repair.
Step 4: In two inch increments, more material will be applied and compacted until the repair is even and filled completely.
Step 5: Finally, a small crown will be applied to the repair area to allow for additional compaction, allowing the product to continue to settle once opened to traffic.
